Screen Tough Guy Robert Davi Joins All-Star 'Expendables' Sequel

Robert Davi has been collecting so many accolades for his interpretation of the Sinatra songbook one might forget his legacy of tough guy performances.

Not Sylvester Stallone.

The erstwhile Rocky is bringing Davi aboard Expendables 3, a film featuring even more brawny stars than the first two installments.

Davi joins returning franchise players Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Randy Couture. The tough guy parade doesn’t stop there. Also on board for the third film in the lucrative franchise are Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas and Mel Gibson.

Davi fits right in with this cinematic lot, even if they’d be hard pressed to sing a timeless ballad like the Die Hard veteran.

Stallone, the franchise’s driving force, tweeted the following promotional poster for the film this weekend. Expendables 3 hits theaters Aug. 15, 2014.
