Mainstream TV Media Featured Bloomberg 43 Times in 2013

All it takes to buy some love from the media, apparently, is a few billion dollars and some half-baked proposals to control Americans on everything from soda size to gun ownership. What else to make of the fact that from January 1, 2013 to March 22, 2013, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg appeared 43 times on morning and evening news nationally?

Bloomberg’s media profile has risen dramatically since the November elections, and especially in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary school shootings. The New York City mayor has pledged to spend millions to push his gun control agenda.

Dan Gainor, Media Research Center’s Vice President for Business and Culture, tells Breitbart News, “The media adoration of billionaires is hilariously one-sided. They adore every crazy, Nanny State idea pushed by Bloomberg or Soros and are appalled that the Kochs are allowed to even have money. Bloomberg changed the laws to get elected a third-term like he’s some Central American despot, went after guns, speeding and even soda, yet to the major media he’s a ‘visionary.’ I wonder if they’d feel that way if he decided to go after the press, too.”

Ben Shapiro is Editor-At-Large of Breitbart News and author of the book “Bullies: How the Left’s Culture of Fear and Intimidation Silences America” (Threshold Editions, January 8, 2013).
