Cops: 76-Year-Old Man Breaks Wife’s Hip During Argument Over Dating Website

According to authorities, an argument between an elderly couple over the husband’s use of a dating website led to the arrest of 76-year-old Edward Aronson who now faces battery charges. According to the police report, Edward’s 77-year-old wife caught him perusing an unidentified dating website on Saturday night, triggering a heated argument during which she eventually slapped him across the face. He then shoved his wife to the floor.

45 minutes later, he called 911 and paramedics transported his wife to Bethesda Hospital West where a doctor confirmed she had a broken right hip, according to the report.

A nurse called police after reportedly overhearing Edward on the phone saying, “She accused me of cheating and was yelling at me, so I pushed her.” The nurse told deputies that he was glaring at his wife and she appeared fearful.

When deputies arrived at the hospital, Edward “freely” admitted to shoving his wife. According to the report, he had a red mark and slight swelling on his cheek from the alleged slap across the face.

“After 33 years of marriage, I can not believe it,” the woman said to deputies.

It wasn’t clear if she was talking about the potential website dating betrayal or the fact that he pushed her down and broke her hip.

Neither husband nor wife gave deputies formal statements on the incident, according to the report.

Aronson spent a few hours at the Palm Beach County Jail before he was released on $5,000 bond.

Realizing that women like bad boys, Aronson quickly swapped out his profile picture on the website for his mug shot above. He’s received 11 winks since changing the photo.
