US Securities and Exchange Commission chief Mary Schapiro will step down after guiding the key markets regulator in the wake of the country’s financial crisis.
Schapiro will leave the job as SEC chairman on December 14 after nearly four years in the job focused heavily on rewriting regulations and toughening enforcement, the SEC said in a statement.
