S. Africa union says leader shot dead at Marikana mine

A South African union said a local leader was shot dead at Lonmin’s Marikana mine on Monday, almost a year after police shot dead 34 strikers there.

“This (Monday) morning she was fatally shot next to our offices,” said National Union of Mineworkers spokesman Lesiba Seshoka.
