June 10 (UPI) — HBO Max has released the first full-length trailer for its upcoming sequel series, Gossip Girl.

“Nine years ago, the original Gossip Girl website shut down. But after a new generation of New York’s young elite takes control of private school Constance Billard, the notorious blogger reemerges as the No. 1 source into their scandalous lives,” reads the synopsis that accompanied Thursday’s 2-minute preview on YouTube.

The clip depicts a wealthy, diverse, attractive and exquisitely dressed group of friends and lovers as they attend school, parties and fashion shows in New York City.

They also seem concerned to learn they are being spied on by someone who reveals their secrets on an anonymous Instagram account.

Set to debut on the streaming service July 8, the new iteration of Gossip Girl will feature Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith.

The new version of the young-adult drama was developed by showrunner Joshua Safran, a writer and executive producer on the original series.

The first show ran 2007-2012 on The CW and starred Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford, Taylor Momsen, Ed Westwick, Kelly Rutherford, Matthew Settle, Jessica Szohr and Kaylee DeFer.

Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage created and ran the original series. They are serving as executive producers on the reboot.

Kristen Bell narrated the original series and can be heard in the new trailer, asking: “Did you miss me? I know I’ve missed you.”
