Sept. 22 (UPI) — Tampa Bay Buccaneers star wide receiver Antonio Brown was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, the team announced.

League sources told ESPN and NFL Media that Brown was added to the list after testing positive for the coronavirus. He is the third Buccaneers player to be placed on the COVID-19 list this week, joining special teams captain Kevin Minter and practice squad wide receiver Travis Jonsen.

Under the NFL’s COVID-19 protocols, Brown — who is vaccinated — will need two negative test results at least 24 hours apart to be eligible to return, as long as he is asymptomatic.

“Kevin and A.B. are both on the COVID list. With A.B., we’ve got plenty of guys with a proven track record at that position,” Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians told reporters Wednesday. “Kevin will be missed as far as special teams, but we’ve got some young guys ready to roll.”

Arians noted that Brown and Minter still have a chance to play Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, but the team has been preparing as if they won’t be available for that matchup.

Through two games this season, Brown has notched six receptions for 138 yards and one touchdown on 10 targets. His 138 receiving yards rank second on the team this year.
