Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” NBC News White House Correspondent Peter Alexander said Republicans are saying President Donald Trump, “is erratic, he is undisciplined, he is inconsistent.”
Alexander said. “I think a lot of people are saying that this president has been MIA. You heard Marc Short insist he’s been heavily involved. He was in the resident until 2:30 in the afternoon yesterday, was not really involved — made calls mostly to Republicans. The day before the conversation with Chuck Schumer, I think a lot of Republican I spoke to on the Hill feel that backfired on the president in some ways.”
He added, “What is striking is Republican operatives said to me they think this president is erratic, he is undisciplined, he is inconsistent. Which makes it tough on him when he tries to get himself engaged on a deal like this.”
