Katy Perry Makes Veiled Plea for Gun Control After Mall Murder Suicide

Following what the Mail Online described as a “murder-suicide” in Maryland’s Columbia Mall, pop star Katy Perry tweeted that “this is getting embarrassing” and asked, “When will there be ACTUAL change?”

Twitchy.com compiled Perry’s tweets on the incident, the first of which posted at 1:55 pm: “Is anyone else really sad about the constant stream of shootings and how normal it’s becoming to see headlines on a weekly basis?”

Her next tweet hit at 2 pm: “Scared to go to school? Scared to go to the mall? Scared to go to the movies? Me too. When where there be ACTUAL change? How many more?!”

After receiving a tweet from CNN’s Piers Morgan supporting her push for gun control, Perry tweeted: “You and I both know this is getting embarrassing. My heart goes out to ALL the victims & their families this week. I pray for change.”

After one of the followers of Perry’s Twitter mentioned her armed security detail, another follower responded: “@katyperry – keep fighting the good fight. I will not rest until only rich people like you are allowed to protect themselves with guns.”
