Planned Parenthood Head Campaigns for Obama

Cecile Richards, the head of Planned Parenthood, is perpetuating the “war on women” meme of the left as her organization strives to hold onto American taxpayer dollars. Sensing that many American women are using their actual brains to vote, and not their “lady parts,” Richards’ decision to hit the Obama campaign trail full-time tells us that the abortion industry giant is desperate.

A recent USA Today/Gallup poll has found Mitt Romney, who is pro-life and has promised to defund Planned Parenthood, is now in a dead heat with Barack Obama regarding the women’s vote.

Thus far, the organization’s political division has spent $5.7 million on the U.S. election. In 2009, Planned Parenthood’s total “health center” income was about $405 million, about $155 million of which was from abortions, making the organization’s income from abortion that year 38.4% of its total revenue.

Richards, the president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, says she is taking a “break from her day job,” for which she receives a salary of almost $400,000 a year, to volunteer for the president’s campaign.

In a newly released video, Richards says, “Since day one, President Obama has stood with women. The very first bill he signed was the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, allowing us to make sure that women get equal pay to men. And under the Affordable Care Act he’s expanded healthcare coverage to millions of American women.”

Continuing the “war on women” canard, Richards states in the video that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are “threatening not just to take us back four years, but more than 40 years.”

Richards, along with President Obama, is apparently unconcerned with the millions of American senior women who will be suffering under the Affordable Care Act, once the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), the unelected panel of government bureaucrats empowered by ObamaCare, begins rationing their care. Or, how about the same senior American women whose Medicare providers will be dropping them as patients because they can no longer afford the cuts to reimbursement rates that are a result of the $716 billion President Obama stole from Medicare to pay for ObamaCare?

And what about about the millions of women who are unemployed in the Obama economy? Most American women are struggling to make ends meet, not despairing over whether someone else will pay for their birth control pills.

Richards’ desperate move to campaign operative demonstrates that Romney’s surge is real and that American women are a lot smarter than the left thought they would ever be.
