Left Makes Last-Ditch Effort to Save Amnesty

Around 200 left-wing protesters organized and bused in by the SEIU and Casa de Maryland staged a protest outside the Capitol building on Wednesday afternoon in the hours before House Republicans huddle to determine the fate of immigration reform efforts.

They chanted “Yes we can!” And “si se puede” and urged Republicans, particularly Speaker John Boehner, to take up the Senate immigration bill. “Remember November!” They also shouted in a what appeared to be an attempt to further the Washington DC conventional wisdom that Republicans need to grant America’s illegal immigrants amnesty to survive as a party. They also held signs with slogans like “GOP RIP?”

The rally size easily paled in comparison to the crowd at a Tea Party press conference Rep. Steve King organized a couple weeks ago. At the time the photos were taken, no members of Congress, including Democrats, were visible at the impromptu leftist rally.
