On Anniversary of Death, Jesse Jackson Says Trayvon Martin 'Has Resurrection Beyond the Grave'

On the two-year anniversary of the death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin, race agitator Jesse Jackson took to Twitter to celebrate the teen, claiming he has “resurrection beyond the grave.”

Jackson’s Twitter post exploited Martin’s death saying, “Trayvon Martin has resurrection beyond the grave. Today marks the two- year anniversary of his death. #PutDownSYG.”

Readers will note that at the end of that tweet Jackson also threw in a hashtag pleading to “put down” the “stand your ground” law (#PutDownSYG), even though the much maligned law had nothing at all to do with the Trayvon Martin case. 

Neither the prosecution that faced shooter George Zimmerman nor his defense team invoked the law during the 2013 trial that ended up acquitting Martin of murder.

Zimmerman was acquitted of murder after his defense team argued he fired his gun in self-defense–that Trayvon Martin was mercilessly beating him, smashing his head into a sidewalk and putting his life in danger.
