GOP 2016 candidates Gov. Mike Huckabee and Sen. Ted Cruz have dismissed Planned Parenthood’s announcement of its $20 million campaign against pro-life candidates as a notice coming from a group that “lies” and is lacking in “credibility.”

In a new video announcing the abortion business’ campaign, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards referred to the pro-life base of the GOP as “extremists” and placed them on notice.

“And politicians who side with these extremists, you are NOT my candidate,” Richards says.

“Planned Parenthood lies to tax payers by promising to use millions of tax dollars for ‘healthcare’ but instead, uses the money purely to play politics –and defeat pro-life Members of Congress currently in office,” said Huckabee in a statement to Breitbart News. “It’s sickening enough that we give these butchers money to harvest human organs – we should not be forced to finance their immoral political campaigns to promote abortions from coast-to-coast too. Washington needs to wake-up, end this insanity and defund these monsters once and for all.”

Rick Tyler, national spokesperson for Cruz’s campaign, told Breitbart News, “Planned Parenthood has been exposed for who they are and no amount of money is going to either repair their image nor harm pro-life candidates because Planned Parenthood has no credibility left.”

Tyler cites the recent video scandal in which the abortion business was exposed for its apparent practices of selling the body parts of unborn babies and altering the position of babies during abortion in order to harvest their intact organs.

“Americans saw for themselves the alleged selling of the body parts of babies they killed and found it repugnant,” he said. “That happened, because of the courageous work of pro-life activists like Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, who was a driving force in the undercover videos. “Today, Planned Parenthood can no longer cloak themselves as being the champion for women’s health because they are anything but.”

“That is why our campaign is proud to announce that Troy has endorsed Ted Cruz for President,” Tyler added.

In a statement Friday, the Cruz campaign observed that Newman serves as a board member for Center for Medical Progress, the group that produced the undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s practices.

“I am grateful to receive the endorsement of Troy Newman,” Cruz said in a press statement. “He has served as a voice for the unborn for over 25 years, and works tirelessly every day for the pro-life cause. We need leaders like Troy Newman in this country who will stand up for those who do not have a voice.”

For his part, Newman said Cruz stands out as “exceptional” among the strongly pro-life field of GOP candidates.

“One man rises above the pack in his willingness to always tell the truth and do what he said he would do–on life and on every issue that matters to social conservatives,” he said. “That man is Ted Cruz.”

Democrat 2016 candidate Hillary Clinton is a supporter of Planned Parenthood, and recently tweeted that the abortion business is “pro-family.”
