On May 13, Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley (R) signed legislation which will now allow veterans to acquire a concealed weapon license for free.

The legislation was contained in Alabama House Bill 98.

The NRA-ILA reported that HB 98 “will allow qualified, law-abiding, retired military veterans to apply for and receive an Alabama concealed weapon license (CWL) without a fee.”

Breitbart News previously reported that Louisiana lawmakers sent similar legislation was to Governor John Bel Edwards (D) last week. That legislation — HB 304 — was sponsored by Louisiana Rep. Tanner Magee (R-Dist. 53). It would allow veterans to acquire a Louisiana concealed carry permit for free.
