WH Spox: President Celebrated ObamaCare Decision with High Fives, Hugs, Happy Dances

Thursday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” White House communications director Jen Psaki said of the president’s reaction to the Supreme Court upholding a key provision of  ObamaCare was celebratory.

When host Andrea Mitchell asked about the reaction, after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of ObamaCare, of the president and vice president behind the scenes, Psaki said, “Well, there’s no question there were some high fives and hugs and maybe even some happy dances—I’m not going to name names—today around the White House when this decision came down. You heard the president talk about this. This is really about the American people. The millions of people who now don’t need to worry about their tax subsidies being taken way. The 16 million people who now have health insurance over the last five years as a result of the Affordable Care Act. So this is about moving forward, and that’s what we’re looking forward to do doing after the court case decision today.”
