Friday on Fox News, Sen. John Kennedy (R- LA) said he believes House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) intent is to attempt to insert a “left of Lenin” agenda in the forth stimulus measure to meant to address the coronavirus pandemic.
When asked if a fourth stimulus is needed, Kennedy said, “Well, it depends on what is in it. If we follow speaker Pelosi’s lead, I think her intention is to use the coronavirus as a political opportunity to prosecute her left-of-Lenin agenda. I’m not going to support that.”
He continued, “I think right now, what we need to do is concentrate on getting phase three implemented. We passed a bill, 2.2 trillion with leverage up to $4 trillion, but it’s one thing to have Congress pass a bill, it’s another thing to get that money in the hands of people.”
He added, “The president, I was listening carefully to his press conference too, Neil, about the oil and gas. I’m going to speak a little more plainly than the president did. The reason that the bottom has fallen out of the price of oil which is threatening to bankrupt our oil and gas industry in America is the lack of rural demand but also a price war between the Saudis and Russia.”
