Israel on Alert as Syria Moves Chemical Weapons to Border Positions

Coinciding perfectly with Obama’s warning not to use chemical weapons, Assad’s government appears to have shifted the location of their chemical weapons for the very purpose against which Obama warned.

According to reports, “Assad has transferred some of [the] weapons and equipment for mixing chemical components to airports on the [Syrian] border.”

These same reports indicate that Assad only plans to use the weapons on foreign invaders or “an outside force,” which is in keeping with his pledge. But there are obvious concerns that a desperate Assad may take desperate measures if cornered.

Israel is watching to be sure the weapons haven’t been placed at the airports in order to be transferred into Lebanon, and from there into the hands of Hezbollah. 

In no uncertain terms Israel made things clear: “The moment we see that the Syrians transfer chemical and biological weapons to Hezbollah, this is a red line for us and from our point of view it’s a clear cause for war.”
