Curitiba (Brazil) (AFP) – Brazil’s ex-president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva arrived Saturday at the prison in Curitiba where he is due to serve his 12-year sentence for corruption.
Live television footage showed him arriving by helicopter on the roof of federal police headquarters in the city in southern Brazil.
Protesters let off volleys of fireworks, filling the air around the facility with explosions and smoke.
