Headquarters of G5 Sahel anti-terror force attacked in Mali

Bamako (AFP) – The headquarters of a five-nation anti-terror force, the G5 Sahel, came under attack on Friday, witnesses and a Malian security source said.

A suicide bomber tried to penetrate the base in central Mali, according to a security source, while a local orange seller, Haoussa Haidara, said “there was a huge blast” followed by exchanges of gunfire. It was not immediately known if there were any casualties.
