March 23 (UPI) — The Gracie Awards winners are in.
Oprah Winfrey, Jameela Jamil and Monica Lewinsky are among the women to be feted at the Gracie Awards Gala May 19, which takes place at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills.
A separate luncheon for local and student recipients will be held June 16 in New York City, a press release says.
The 51st Annual Gracie Awards will celebrate Winfrey’s work on The Oprah Podcast, Lewinsky’s Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky podcast and Jameella Jamil’s Wrong Turns with Jameela Jamil podcast.
Barba Walters: Tell Me Everything won the Grand Award for Documentary.
“Women’s stories don’t just reflect the world, they shape it, shift it and refuse to let it stay the same. This year’s honorees are doing exactly that across every platform, every format, every audience,” said the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation president Becky Brooks in a statement. “We are proud, we are moved and we are honored to say their names out loud.”
Rhea Seehorn, Abby Phillip, Katherine LaNasa, Rachel Sennott, Sarah Snook and Tina Knowles are also among the honorees.
Prior winners include Michelle Obama, Keke Palmer, Katie Couric, Nichole Kidman, Amanda Seyfried, Melissa McCarthy, Gayle King, Glenn Close, Selena Gomez, Mindy Kaling, Martha Stewart, Barbara Walters and Betty White.
“The Gracies seek to acknowledge and honor individual achievement and programming by, for and about women,” an official synopsis states.
