March 18 (UPI) — Prime Video announced Wednesday that it has renewed Cross for a third season. The Season 2 finale premiered today.
Aldis Hodge plays James Patterson’s detective, Alex Cross. Ben Watkins created the show, with new mysteries not based on the books.
Watkins did incorporate other characters, like Cross’s best friend, John Sampson, played by Isaiah Mustafa. FBI agent Kyle Craig became Kayla Craig, played by Alona Tal.
Cross premiered in 2024. Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd and Johnny Ray Gill also star.
Morgan Freeman portrayed detective Alex Cross in two movies based on the novels Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider.
Tyler Perry played him in 2012’s Alex Cross based on Patterson’s Cross.
Prime Video did not specify when Season 3 will go into production or air.
