Bloomberg’s Green: ‘Dancing Black Militants’ In Beyonce Performance ‘Nightmare’ For ‘Trump’s America’

Bloomberg Businessweek and Bloomberg Politics National Correspondent Joshua Green stated that Beyonce’s performance at the Super Bowl with “the image of dancing black militants” “is like their nightmare come to life” for “Trump’s America” on Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time.”

Host Bill Maher said, “Now, to me, watching that, I was like, ‘Well, this looks like every other halftime show I’ve ever seen.’ No. Wrong. It was an affront to everything we hold dear. It’s a — singing and dancing while black, and once again, at the Super Bowl people misbehaving.”

Later in the discussion, Green argued, “[F]or Trump’s America, the image of dancing black militants is like their nightmare come to life, and right in the middle of the big game that every Republican is watching.”

Maher responded that “[E]very dance number looks militant.” A point Green agreed with, adding, “But there was the black power stuff, and they’re all ginned up cause of Trump.”
