With her bias on full display, New York Times White House correspondent Julie Davis jumped to Twitter to slam President Donald Trump for the audacity of planning a gold-colored Easter egg for this year’s White House Easter Egg Roll. But it wasn’t long before her outrage turned to sheepish apologies when she found Obama also had a gold-colored egg, and just last year at that.
On Tuesday morning, the White House tweeted out the design for one of the 2017 Eater eggs. The egg features the White House seal on one side and the signatures of the president and first lady on the other.

Minutes later, the Times political reporter was in full snark when she tweeted a photo of the new gold egg, clearly intending to slam Trump for the audacity of having a gold egg.
“Forget those silly pastel/rainbow colors of White House Easter Egg Rolls past; Trump’s Easter eggs will be GOLD,” Davis guffawed.

But it appears that Davis tweeted before she looked because the 2017 gold Easter egg is only one of five eggs produced for the 2017 holiday. Along with gold, the White House eggs are being offered in pastel blue, green, yellow, and pink.

It wasn’t long before her Twitter followers began to criticize her for the obvious bias. To cover for her mistake, Davis quickly tweeted out a note admitting that she missed the announcement of Trump’s pastel-colored eggs.
Wait, there are still pastel eggs! The gold version will set you back an additional $6+

And then came the final blow to her biased series of tweets. Ultimately, Davis had to admit she was wrong on every count with her Twitter tirade. She finally tweeted that gold-colored Easter eggs were not invented by Donald Trump. Obama had one just last year.
Appears my memory of Easter Egg Rolls past was wrong. Seems Obamas had a golden egg too — not a Trump innovation https://t.co/zectzLccyC
