Amare Stoudemire: Dorner Manifesto a "Must Read"

New York Knicks superstar Amare Stoudemire tweeted on Sunday that he found alleged cop killer Christopher Dorner’s manifesto “interesting” and a “must read.”

Dorner, who is believed to have killed at least two police officers in addition to two others, reportedly died by shooting himself once in the head after he barricaded himself in a Big Bear, California cabin last week. That cabin burned to the ground, and Dorner’s body has been positively identified.

Two weeks ago, after he reportedly killed Cal State Fullerton assistant women’s basketball coach Monica Quan and her fiance Keith Lawrence in Irvine, CA, Dorner reportedly murdered a Riverside police officer. His chilling manifesto, in which he taunted Quan’s father, who represented him at a disciplinary hearing he lost, and threatened the lives of LAPD officers and their families, was published online after Quan’s murder. In the manifesto, Dorner also praised members of the mainstream media like Chris Matthews of MSNBC and Wolf Blitzer and Anderson Cooper of CNN and aired racial grievances, mostly against other LAPD officers.

Dorner also claimed he was going on his shooting rampage because he felt he was unjustly terminated a little over five years ago after being accused of giving false statements, when he accused a white police officer of unnecessarily kicking a white suspect with mental issues in the head. Under pressure, the LAPD caved and decided to reopen the case over a week ago. It was clear he had a vendetta against LAPD officers.

On WFAN in New York, co-hosts Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton discussed Stoudemire’s tweet on Tuesday, with both hosts saying Stoudemire better issue a clarification soon.

“Why is it a must-read? I’m not reading a manifesto of a deranged psycho unless, of course, it gives me a perspective as to why he’s a deranged psycho, and I would find that interesting for some reason,” Esiason said on the show.
