The Obama administration is keeping secret shocking details of how several U.S. sailors captured by Iran earlier this year were treated by the Islamic Republic, a member of the House Armed Services Committee told the Washington Free Beacon.
Navy Commander Eric Rasch, formerly executive officer of Coastal Riverine Squadron 3, was removed from his post on Thursday. The Navy Times describes him as “the first officer to be publicly disciplined for errors that led to 10 sailors being captured by Iran after getting lost in the Persian Gulf” on January 12.

TEL AVIV – The Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, Major General Hassan Firouzabadi, boasted that Tuesday’s capture and subsequent release of 10 American sailors “proved how vulnerable the U.S. is in front of powerful Iranian forces.”
