FAA Chief: No 'Flexibility' To Manage Money To Prevent Furloughs

FAA Administrator Michael Heurta told the Congressional Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation that he does not have the “flexibility” to transfer funds from an account dedicated to developing and implementing newer technology to an operations account to prevent furloughs. When asked by Representative Rogers if he had asked Congress for that ability, Heurta answered “No.” “That’s what I thought,” Rogers replied.
