Verizon Leads Push for Text-to-911 Services

CBS Dallas-Fort Worth: Verizon customers in Collin County, Texas will soon be able to send text messages to 911 and receive a response–possibly as early as next month. The wireless company just days ago implemented a similar program in the state of Maine. The federal government is currently embroiled in scandal for the NSA’s invasive collection of phone records and recordings from Verizon customers.
