Dem Rep Children Border Crisis a 'Race' Issue

Tuesday on MSNBC “The Ed Show,” Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ) claimed the humanitarian crisis of unaccompanied minors flooding across the U.S.-Mexico border is not an immigration issue but a “unification” and “race” issue.

“I think the president needs to be bold,” Grijalva said. “It needs to be ample, we need to unify families and look at this issue not just as deportation detention issue but as an issue of unification … this immigration issue we’re confronting, underlining that as the issue of race. Like it or not, it’s part and parcel. the republican party has linked those two things together and it makes it even a more dangerous kind of issue not to settle and not to come to some conclusion.”
