Michelle Obama: I Love Nancy Pelosi
First Lady Michelle Obama gushed over House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi at a recent DCCC fundraiser in Boston, Massachusetts, calling her “fabulous,” “tireless,” “amazing,” “fearless,” and “deeply passionate.”
“I also want to recognize our fabulous leader, Leader Nancy Pelosi, for her outstanding leadership every day in Congress,” the First Lady said in front of the Democratic donors.
“I’m going to embarrass you because, you know, I love Nancy Pelosi. Barack Obama loves Nancy Pelosi,” she added. “It’s just amazing to watch her in action. She is tireless. She is fearless. She is so deeply passionate about making a difference in the lives of families across this country.”
Michelle Obama added that she and her husband were “in awe” every time they saw the former speaker in action.
[S]he has become a friend, her family has become our family,” she said, joking that Pelosi’s husband Paul was like “my second husband.”
“We are truly grateful for everything that you have accomplished, and we love you dearly,” she added. “So thank you so much.”
The First Lady reminded donors that without Pelosi, there wouldn't be Obamacare, the auto bailout, or the stimulus.
Well, those bills were all passed by a Democratic Congress under the leadership of Speaker Nancy Pelosi back in 2008, 2009 and 2010," she said. "That’s how all that stuff got done."
