Boehner Omnibus Gives Obama $5.4 Billion to Fight Ebola in U.S., Around the World

House Speaker John Boehner has decided to give President Barack Obama $5.4 billion to fight Ebola around the world and at home.

The 1,603-page omnibus spending bill Boehner’s House GOP leadership team introduced on Tuesday after 8 p.m. includes, according to a summary document GOP leadership published, $5.4 billion “to fight Ebola in the U.S. and abroad.”

The text of the legislation has the word “Ebola” on at least 16 separate pages, a search of the document shows. The money is going to the Departments of Defense, Health and Human Services, Agriculture, and State–each of which will be getting millions upon millions of dollars.

Boehner and the establishment Republicans are giving Obama’s administration those billions of Ebola dollars despite the fact it wouldn’t cost taxpayers much at all–maybe a little in administrative paperwork costs–to ban travel to and from Ebola-stricken nations to prevent the disease from reaching America in a bigger outbreak than it previously has.
