Katzenberg, Maher, Freeman Funded Soptic Campaign Smear

The recent Priorities USA campaign commercial connecting Mitt Romney to the death of a woman from cancer may rank as the most despicable, and downright dishonest, political ads ever created.

Even the increasingly left-leaning CNN torched it. So did The New York Times.

So who is propping up Priorities USA, a Super PAC created to boost President Barack Obama’s re-election chances? Just take a gander at the group’s top 10 donors and three celebrity names jump out.

  • Hard-left comedian Bill Maher famously cut a $1 million check for the group.
  • Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman, who has grown more political and stridently so since Obama took office, did the same.
  • DreamWorks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg coughed up $2 million to help Priorities USA come up with such unsavory, factually bankrupt ads.
