Gosnell Movie Campaign Nears Goal, Still Smashing Crowdfunding Records

The crowdfunding campaign to make a TV movie about convicted killer Kermit Gosnell has only five days left. The Gosnell Movie project is nearing the $2 million mark and already has shattered a number of fundraising records.

The project, designed to remind the public of the atrocities committed by the late-term abortionist, is Indiegogo.com’s most successful campaign to date. The Gosnell movie out-earned projects from major stars like Spike Lee and James Franco. Its fundraising tally represents a larger number of donors than those star-driven projects.

The goal is to reach $2.1 million before the campaign expires.

Filmmaker Phelim McAleer notes the project has drawn people into the crowdfunding arena that may not have considered the subject prior to this film’s creation.

The team behind the movie put out a new video this week underlining the stakes–and the emotion–tied ot the film. The video showcases a 27-year-old woman who went to Gosnell for an abortion but had second thoughts when she heard what happens to the babies after the abortion process.
