Earthquake Afterthought: Skateboarders Turn Buckled Napa Street Into Skate Park

Some Napa County skateboarders found the silver lining in the worst earthquake Northern California has experienced in over 10 years by turning a buckled street into an impromptu skate park. 

“My first thought was ‘oh no, earthquake. My second? Cool skate park,'” one teen said, according to local CBS affiliate in San Francisco. The impromptu skate park is reportedly on Meadowbrook Drive.

One snowboarder responded to her tweet by throwing out a common skating phrase:

In a testament to the age-old idiom “one man’s trash is another’s treasure,” for Napa skateboarders making the best of nature’s wrath, one person’s quake-ravaged street is another’s impromptu skate park.
