ESPN Apologizes for 'Wandai Wrection' Chyron Gaffe

This week, ESPN, a network that is increasingly criticizing athletes for not being politically correct, had a graphic on screen during a telecast of a Little League World Series game that mistakenly said that a Japanese player's favorite singer was, "Wandai Wrection."

The "singer"--or band--in question was reportedly the group, "One Direction," which was the Japanese player's favorite group.

ESPN released the following statement on the incident:

"We apologized on air during the game telecast and also personally apologized to the team and player after the game."
