Putin Brings Dog to Meet with Japanese Prime Minister

Russian President Vladmir Putin brought one of his dogs when he visited with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe this weekend amid the outrage over the company that Sochi officials hire to kill stray dogs before the Winter Olympics.

Putin’s dog was actually gift from Abe after Russia assisted the nation after the tsunami that devastated Japan in 2011.

After Abe petted the dog and said, “good dog,” Putin reportedly replied, “Yes, but she can bite sometimes.”

Putin is reportedly a “dog lover and also has a Labrador named Komi and a Bulgarian shepherd named Buffy” in addition to the Akita named Yume (“Dream” in Japanese).
