High Winds From Sandy Cause Midtown Crane Collapse

NY Daily News: Hurricane Sandy heralded her arrival in the city Monday by knocking over a crane atop a midtown skyscraper that was under construction.As the storm grew in force and intensity, half of the massive crane hung perilously over West 57th St. at Sixth Ave.Firefighters were enroute and the little traffic near the One57 building was being hurried away by worried police.No injuries were reported in the collapse, which was reported at 2:30 p.m., city officials said.
