GOP Rep: DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson 'Shameful' for 'Making Things Up'

Sunday on “Meet the Press,” Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID) offered the show a new slogan after watching the previous interview with Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.

“As I was listening to Secretary Johnson, I kept thinking you just need to change your slogan at the beginning of your show,” Labrador said. “Instead of ‘If it’s Sunday, it’s Meet the Press,’ it should be ‘If it’s Sunday, it’s another Obama administration official making stuff up on Meet the Press.’”

Labrador criticized Johnson for claiming the number of unaccompanied minors crossing the border has increased due to violence in Central America.

“The violence has existed in the Central American countries for a long period of time,” Labrador said. “The level of poverty has existed in the Central American country for a long period of time but it’s over the last two years that you have seen an increase in the number of children coming to the United States … I know it sounds harsh” but he said the children must be  deported to their country of origin.”
