If You Can, Attend Saturday Night's Easter Vigil

Starting with tonight’s Holy Thursday service, we enter my favorite four days of the year.

Holy Thursday: Tonight we commemorate the Last Supper, the institution of Holy Communion, Christ’s washing of his Apostle’s fee, and Christ’s farewell.

Good Friday: Tomorrow night we venerate the cross in observance of Christ’s passion and death.

Easter Vigil: An indescribably beautiful service.

Easter: A celebration of the risen Christ and the end of Lent.

If you’ve never attended the Easter Vigil, you should. It’s a long service, upwards of three hours, but the time flies by. The candlelight, the readings (including Genesis), and the ceremony of it all really bring home the power of the season.
