Obama, Schakowsky Campaigns Bus Chicagoans to Wisconsin and Iowa

With the president’s favorability among Americans seemingly spiraling out of control since his first debate appearance, the president’s campaign is now busing Chicagoans to once considered “safe” Iowa on Saturday and organizing carpools on Sunday to persuade voters to get behind President Obama’s re-election effort.

The president’s campaign reached out to Chicagoans today via email to organize carpools this Sunday to Iowa. When I called to inquire about the trip, Organizing for America Organizer Pamela Bullock, said, “the bus for Saturday is pretty much full,” but due to lack of sign ups for Sunday, they only have carpooling options available. Can anyone say enthusiasm gap?

From Organizing for America:

Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky’s campaign, considered safe, despite losing the Chicago Tribune‘s endorsement last week to Republican challenger Tim Wolfe, and now in a slightly more red 9th district, is also forced to bus her supporters north to Wisconsin, weekly, to stump for the president.

From an email sent today by Schakowsky’s political director, Alex Armour:
