Controversial Former Drug Executive Martin Shkreli Supports Jeb Bush

Controversial former drug company CEO Martin Shkreli announced his support for Jeb Bush ahead of Tuesday’s New Hampshire Republican primary.

Shkreli tweeted Friday night that he is an “avid supporter” of Bush, who is battling Donald Trump and fellow establishment Republicans Marco Rubio and John Kasich for votes in New Hampshire.

Shkreli drew his share of detractors in 2015 when he decided to hike up the price of the anti-parasite medication Darprim. Shkreli, 32, owned the drug and raised the price from $13.5o to approximately $750 per pill. He was subsequently arrested on federal securities fraud charges and resigned as the CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals, a company that he founded.

Shkreli testified Thursday before the House Oversight Committee, pleading the Fifth Amendment to avoid answering questions and frequently laughing at the line of questioning from Reps. Jason Chaffetz and Elijah Cummings.

Shkreli is claiming innocence against what he calls “baseless” allegations.
