Donald Trump: Met ‘Terrific’ Indiana Gov. Mike Pence

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump is tweeting about his meeting with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.

During his campaign rally in Indiana on Wednesday, Trump focused on trade policy after Carrier, an air conditioning company, moved its manufacturing plant out of Indianapolis to Mexico, impacting nearly 2,000 jobs.

“Trump reached out to the governor,” Pence’s spokesperson Kara Brooks explained. Pence and Trump met at the governor’s residence before Trump’s afternoon rally in Indianapolis on Wednesday. New Jersey Gov. Chis Christie, who has endorsed Trump, was reportedly also at the meeting.

Pence hasn’t announced an endorsement in the 2016 election, yet but is planning to meet with all three GOP presidential candidates ahead of the primary on May 3.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) will speak at a Republican dinner in Indiana on Thursday and Pence will also attend. Ohio Gov. John Kasich is expected to meet with Pence next week.

Gov. Mike Pence’s spokesperson Kara Brooks commented on the meeting with Trump:

Governor Pence was pleased to welcome Mr. Trump back to Indiana and hear firsthand his plans for the country. The Governor was also grateful for the opportunity to describe Indiana’s economic success and expressed his desire to have a partner in the White House who will help advance pro-growth economic policies, reduce burdensome regulation and curb the size and scope of government. With more than 130,000 new private sector jobs created since he took office, Governor Pence believes addressing these issues is critical in order for Indiana to continue to be a great place to live, work and raise a family.
