Two Missouri men were sentenced to prison for killing a cat and posting a video of it on social media.

Kyle Williams (above, left), of Branson, and Jordan Hall (right), of Arnold, were both sentenced  last Friday on charges of animal abuse and armed criminal action.

Taney County Prosecuting Attorney Jeff Merrell said that Williams and Hall received the maximum sentence for animal abuse.

Authorities suggested that after Williams dragged the kitten behind a moving Jeep, he killed it with a rock.

Williams posted a video of the criminal act on Facebook in an attempt to get his fans to buy him pizza.

Members of Williams’ social media group alerted the police after viewing the video.

While in custody, Williams allegedly attempted to make a shank out of a spork; he was sentenced to five additional years in jail.

Merrell said in a statement on Friday, “We are satisfied with the sentences handed down today by the judge for this senseless act of depravity against a helpless kitten.”

Merrell added, “We appreciate the help of good Samaritans in our digital community in reporting this crime as it might have gone unpunished without their assistance.”
