Piers on Chicago Shootings: 'America Needs to Take Federal Action'

Taking advantage of the fact that some 67 people were shot in Chicago from Wednesday through Sunday, CNN host Piers Morgan went on another anti-gun rant via Twitter. This time, recognizing that Chicago is a failed gun control model, he called for federal gun control – although he still did not explain why he supposedly stands for freedom to own handguns, the firearm of choice in Chicago gun crime. “Who is going to stop this insanity?” Morgan tweeted.

He then followed up: “Chicago’s supposedly ‘tough’ gun laws are utterly pointless when states around it have weak gun laws. America needs to take federal action.” What about America having tough gun laws when its surrounding states – like Mexico – have free flow of firearms? Morgan doesn’t say.

But he did tweet, “The gun ‘rights’ lobby can tell me the only answer to gun violence is more guns until they’re blue in the face. It’s utter nonsense.” Nobody argues that, of course – people do argue that the answer to violence is more responsible people owning guns and less irresponsible or criminal people owning guns.
