The Times of Israel reports: Three Border Police officers were lightly injured Sunday afternoon in an apparent car-ramming attack in the West Bank.

The incident occurred on Route 60 near Beit Ummar, north of Hebron.

The driver of the vehicle was shot dead by security forces at the scene. The Palestinian health ministry identified him as Khaled Ahmad Aylan, 23 years old, of Beit Ummar.

The policemen were taken to Jerusalem’s Shaarei Tzedek Hospital for treatment. They suffered injuries to the lower extremities.

A statement from Border Police said officers had quickly realized the assailant’s intent, and had thus managed to minimize the damage he caused.
