Ankara calls on Russia and Iran to ‘stop’ the Syrian regime in E.Ghouta

Istanbul (AFP) – Turkey on Friday called on Russia and Iran to “stop” the Syrian regime bombardment of the rebel-held enclave of Eastern Ghouta after more than 400 civilians were killed in the region since Sunday.

“Russia and Iran must stop the regime,” Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said. He added that the offensive in the enclave as well as in the rebel-held Idlib province was “contrary” to agreements negotiated by Ankara, Moscow and Tehran during the Astana process.
