LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 (UPI) — Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a first-time dad.

The 39-year-old Tudors alum and fiancée Mara Lane welcomed son Wolf Rhys Meyers on Dec. 15, E! News reported Wednesday.

Sources told the website Lane gave birth at the couple’s home with the help of a midwife. The actress, who appeared in the movie In a World…, had announced her pregnancy just days before the baby’s arrival.

“#IncomingPackage best present. #ThankYouLord #SantaBelly,” she captioned a photo of her baby bump Dec. 11.

Meyers and Lane have been together since 2014 and got engaged the same year. An insider told E! News at the time that the couple were “beyond excited” to start their lives together.

“They have been together since January,” the source said. “They are so in love. He is in a great place and Mara and Jonathan really complement each other. He is healthy and happy.”

Lane has been a source of support for Meyers as he continues to battle his alcohol addiction. The actor shared a photo with Lane in May 2015 after “a minor relapse” in his recovery.

“Mara and I are thankful for your support and kindness,” he wrote at the time. “I feel I made a mistake and feel quite embarrassed but this was just a blip in my recover otherwise I’m living a healthy life.”

Meyers is best known for playing King Henry VIII on The Tudors, which came to a close in 2010 after four seasons on Showtime. He has since appeared on Vikings and will star in the new thriller Black Butterfly.
