March 25 (UPI) — Martin Clunes has returned to Cornwall film fresh episodes of his ITV dramedy Doc Martin.
The show is set in a small, coastal town in England and follows the lives of a grumpy, local doctor, his family, neighbors and patients.
“I’m thrilled to be back on the beautiful North Cornish coast to shoot Series 8 of Doc Martin. The doc is as obstinate as ever, but he is trying his best to be a better husband and father,” Clunes said in a statement.
Also returning are series regulars Caroline Catz as the title character’s wife and local school headmistress, Louisa Ellingham; Eileen Atkins as Doc Martin’s formidable Aunt Ruth; villager Ian McNeice as Bert Large; Joe Absolom as Bert’s son Al; and John Marquez as police officer Joe Penhale.
The series has already been renewed for a ninth season.
