GREEN BAY, Wis., July 21 (UPI) — It’s hard to remember anything else from Richard Rodgers’ 2015 season, other than his miraculous Hail Mary touchdown from Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers played at 272 pounds last season, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. He is listed at 257 pounds on the Green Bay Packers’ roster.

The tight end had 58 receptions for 510 yards and eight touchdowns last season. Bob McGinn wrote in the Journal-Sentinel that his offseason objective was to lose weight.

“He’s been working with [strength coach] Mark Lovat and the nutritionist to try and keep his weight where he feels comfortable [it] will allow him to move better,” position coach Brian Angelichio told McGinn. “Honestly, until the pads come on, it’s hard to really judge that.”

Rodgers, 24, is signed through 2017. Earlier this month, he told Packers.com that his goal this offseason was to “develop into more of an all-around tight end.”

In March, the Packers signed former St. Louis Rams tight end Jared Cook to a one-year, $2.75 million contract. There have been contradicting reports about if Cook or Rodgers will be the Packers starting tight end in 2016.
