SAN ANTONIO, July 15 (UPI) — Former Villanova point guard Ryan Arcidiacono leaves the national champions for one of the NBA’s most successful franchises.

Arcidiacono agreed to sign a deal with the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday, following Villanova’s improbable run through March Madness.

The 6-foot-3 2016 NCAA Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player was playing for the Spurs’ 2016 NBA Summer League team. He averaged 2.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in seven games.

He averaged 12.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.9 rebounds in 32.1 minutes per game last season.

Arcidiacono slanted ESPN after his Wildcats came away from the ESPY Awards without a trophy.

“It’s alright @BIGEAST @NovaMBB always get disrespected, probably lost that one because we proudly rep @FOXSportsand don’t play on @espn,” Arcidiacono said on Twitter.
