WAM ABU DHABI: The UAE Ministry of Economy will launch three community initiatives in memory of the late UAE founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The ministry said it will launch the initiatives on the anniversary of the demise of Sheikh Zayed on the 19th of Ramadan.
"The approach of Zayed the generous", "Zayed the man" will raise awareness of humanitarian work and promote philanthropic values as one of the ministry’s priorities, while the "Charitable packages" will see the distribution of food packages to needy families during this year’s fasting season.
Minister of Economy, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, said the progress, openness and economic development the UAE enjoys today is attributed to the huge efforts made by the late founding fathers of the nation.
"Sheikh Zayed, in particular, was a noble, wise and humanitarian figure and statesman who earned the respect of the whole world," the minister said.
